DMCC overview

DMCC is one of the largest and best-known free zones in the world, based in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT). It is the home of commodities trading in Dubai — gold, diamonds, tea, coffee — and has a dedicated Crypto Centre for virtual asset businesses.

A DMCC licence costs more than most free zones, but it carries a strong reputation with banks, partners and investors. It is a good fit if your business needs credibility from day one, deals in commodities, or works in Web3.

DMCC has a wider range of physical office choices in JLT and a large business community with regular events.

Best for

  • Commodity traders
  • Crypto and Web3 businesses
  • Established companies
  • Firms that need a premium address

Visa & office options

DMCC companies can sponsor up to 6 residence visas, depending on the office you choose. In most free zones, a flexi-desk supports a small number of visas, and larger quotas need a shared or private office. The investor (owner) visa usually counts towards the quota.

Available office options in DMCC: flexi-desk, shared office, private office. If you expect to hire, choose a package with room to grow — upgrading later is possible but often costs more than starting with the right setup.

Minimum share capital: AED 50,000 (declared; usually not required to be deposited — confirm per activity).

Documents required

  • Passport copy of every shareholder and manager (valid 6+ months)

  • Emirates ID copy (UAE residents)
